Easter at 50

Today was Easter.  And I don't really have anything to say.  The day was beautiful. My horses were sweet, soft, and happy.  And I gardened and wrote letters and just enjoyed myself.  You can see in this photo that I've become plump with middle age.  But I'm happy and healthy and active.  And I have the world's best team mates.  I still can't believe that I have a thoroughbred and sport pony to share good times.

Stephen, dressed in his best, just jumped up on a ledge and started booking.  He looked so sweet strolling up that hill on Easter morning.  Such a good boy!

I am glad for my sister and her family -- her husband is doing well, she is a wonderful mother, and the children are all happy and healthy.  And their home is so beautiful in such a lovely town.  But they live so far away.  I miss them very much.

Here they are in their Easter finery.  We were so happy to go to church with them.  And it was really funny because the Pastor was talking about Easter Sunday and how Christ called out to his disciplines, "Hello!" And little baby Stephen, who was sitting in the next to last row of this giant church, gave out a huge bit shoutout "hello" in response.  It was the best.  The best.  Namaste.

My mom bought Stephen some red cowboy boots and he was just so handsome and funny in them.  He looked like a million Texan oil dollars!

My mom got the kids some cute presents for Easter with dolls and books.  The girls loved their dolls and here are some pictures of mom reading to her rapt audience -- the story featured a detective raccoon, of course!

Elena and her family moved to Texas in March and so we went to spend Easter with them.  They have a beautiful new home that is so comfortable and elegant, a large yard, and a wonderful pool with hot tub.  Everybody is doing so well and we had so much fun!!
