My Halloween Peeps

Christine and Jorge hosted a Halloween party which was so fun and nice. I had such a great time. And I was impressed beyond all description that Danielle and Todd went as Nancy and Sid. Honestly, all night long, I was slightly freaked out by Todd talking his usual talk -- of film, cultural criticism, politics and art -- and all the while he just looked exactly like Sid! And Jorge was eerie too -- he went as one of the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz and so it was just strange to see his face painted and acting so goofy -- though of course sweet. Anyway, we stayed until after 2am! Thank goodness for the fall back gain in hour! Christine and Jorge hosted the most charming party with great food, drinks, company and laughs, laughs, laughs. They are really dear people!

Wedding! The Siblings!

Here is Christine's brother and Jorge's sister. Jorge also has a very nice brother who is published in ASR! He is published with Scott South! Anyway, I include these photos because as you all know siblings are important. They are truly a lifelong relationship -- siblings are people who know you from birth and who will be with you for all time. So, of course, they are important at weddings! Let me just say, Jorge and Christine have wonderful siblings!!!

Wedding! A Willing Spirit!

This past weekend, two lovely friends married in Orland Park, Illinois. Jorge and Christine had the most warm-hearted ceremony and reception. The music was beautiful. They had close ones from each side of their connection present during the ceremony. The ceremony was in both English and Spanish. Everything was lovely. And I so enjoyed the ceremony because you could see their dear choices -- from the settings, to the food which emphasized both their cultures, to the great dance music, to the happy toasts and love, love, love in the room. Their wedding was a wonderful way to begin the new year. I wish them much love in their life together. In fact, their Reverend emphasized that fact, by telling them in his homily that "Love is in the details." I am so happy to be able to report that Jorge and Christine are all about the details of love!

In this video, you can hear the lovely song which emphasizes the desire for a willing spirit to enter into love!

Tree Lighting Ceremony!

Each year, Bowling Green has a tree lighting ceremony, using the big old beautiful tree in front of our town library. We went down for the festivities. They had carolers, treats, and even jambalaya and red beans and rice! We watched the lighting, listened to music, visited with the beautiful horses taking folks for carriage rides, listened to a symphony orchestra in the library, registered for prizes (which C and J won!) and went to the Grand Opening of our new wine bar with Jazz at the Clazel Theater. It was a real lovely evening!

How to Win a Holiday Basket!

This photo was taken earlier in December when Jorge, Christine and I went to our town's holiday tree-lighting at the public library. We had some goofy fun. And, in fact, here's a photo of J and C filling out their coupons to win a holiday basket. They put in to win a little girl's basket and I was in the middle to teasing them when I took this photo. Here's the punchline! Just a few days ago, J and C found out that they did win that basket, and so now they have a Christmas present for their niece. Weird wonderful world!

Christine's Birthday!

Yesterday was such a lovely day. We took Christine to The Jewel, an Indian Restaurant in Toledo, to celebrate her birthday. Jorge had purchased this wonderful quadruple chocolate cake and we brought many bottles of wine. It was such a cheerful, cozy, relaxed, fun evening. And Christine is just a hoot. She tells the funniest stories. We had a good holiday laugh! Namaste!

Christine and Jorge Visit!

My friends, Christine and Jorge, came to visit baby within his first days of life. Christine has hidden talents both as a photographer and as a horsewoman! She was really intrigued by the beauty of the horses and has that zen connection with them!
I was excited because she took some beautiful 35mm film exposure photos of Hailee and Renny. And she got some awfully nice photos of me and my baby, especially. You'll be seeing her work over the next few days.
