Violet's Spring Break!

Okay, so the past few days have been really amazing and exciting. Barbie managed to borrow a driving cart from Lisa Busch. Lisa brought the cart over on Friday, the very first day of Spring Break -- perfect timing! Barbie and I put some of the harness on her and I long-lined her. She didn't mind the crupper at all and she was a great girl! Then on Saturday, I put the blinders on and harness and long-lined her. And then on Sunday, I pulled the cart into the ring and put harness on her and lunged, rode, and hand-walked her around the cart! She was perfection itself, not even a snort! So, today, Monday, March 9th, Barbie and I put the full harness on and Barbie practiced pulling on the traces and then we polo-wrapped her back legs, and hitched her to a training log. She pulled that log politely around the ring at a walk and brisk trot. And she was happy to do looping figure eights! She is really going to be a remarkable driving pony!

Baby Stephen! Taking a Break at the Children's Museum!

On the Saturday after Stephen's birth, mom and I took his sisters to the wonderful Pittsburgh Children's Museum. They spent a morning and early afternoon, playing with water, visiting Mr. Rogers' neighborhood, painting, and preparing art work, lunching, and listening to a storyteller. We had a great time and then returned home to enjoy their new brother!

Baby Stephen! Sister Tweaks his Hat!

I love this photo. Here is Clara, holding her baby brother while her sister adjusts his little hat. Emma is always careful to have a fabulous hat or tiara on, as you can tell by her fairy godmother hat here, so I am sure she wanted her brother to be absolutely comfortable and snappy in his little baby cap.

Baby Stephen! Tired Auntie!

Here I am! I was so darn happy when we got to the hospital and Daddy Berg handed baby to me. He is just perfection itself. Then later when he came home, one late night, I found out that he is just the best little guy. He was taking a little snooze, resting on my shoulder, and he just relaxed me right down. He has the weight of a cat and he's all nice and warm and sweet. And he's my little nephew! So, I couldn't have been happier to have a few moments with him evening, resting with him after his burping! Namaste.
