Okay, so Baby Zip is the 2005 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year. She was born in 1991, the year before I earned my Ph.D., and she lives at Adena Springs where she is one of 3 mares who earned that coveted award! During her racing career, she earned a respectable $60,395, raced 16 times, going 4-0-4. Her parents are Relaunch and Thirty Zip by Tri Jet.But it's as a Blue Hen rocking Bluegrass mama that she is making her claim to fame. So far, she has produced 10 foals, all 6 colts and 4 fillies. And all of them are accomplished, fabulous creatures!

My girls are related to this broodmare of the year many ways, including through Mahmoud, Discovery, Eight Thirty, Blenheim, Gainsborough, Sir Gallahad, Hyperion, Man o' War, Bubbling Over, Bull Dog, Blue Larkspur, and Equipoise. I couldn't find a picture of her, but you can safely bet that she's sweet, intelligent, and beautiful.
