Breaking News! Cultural Theft in Zurich

This morning, the New York Times reported that the largest art theft in history occurred this past Sunday in Zurich, Switzerland, the second time in a week given that Picasso's were stolen from a nearby town last Wednesday.

A half hour before closing time, armed robbers came into the Buehrle Foundation, terrifed guests and staff, and stole paintings by Degas, Van Gogh, Monet, and Cezanne valued at $163 million.

The paintings stolen were Van Gogh's 1890 Blossoming Chestnut Branches, Edgar Degas' 1871 Count Lepic and his Daughters, Claude Monet's 1879 Poppies near Vetheuil, and Paul Cezanna's 1888 Boy in a Red Waistcoat.

Many prayers for the safe return of these works of genius and love. These photos are from the New York Times who got them from the Agence Frances Presse -- Getty Images.
