Here is a photo of Winsome Adante and his girl, Kim Severson, at the 2005 Kentucky Rolex competition on the morning of the soundness check right before the last jumping competition. At this event, he won by an incredible 17 points and led all the way through all three events of the competition, starting with his first Dressage test on Day 1. He is the only horse in history to win the Kentucky Rolex 4 Star CCI event more than once, and he won THREE times! 2002, 2004, and 2005! He is undefeated at Rolex! He arrived three times, won three times. Big Ol' Boy!
Anyway, he lives at Plain Dealing Farm in Scottsville, Virginia and will retire there in glory. He is a 15 year-old English thoroughbred, and has had an amazing eventing career. But he injured a suspensory ligament in a hind leg in 2007, so will retire with love, kisses, and joy.
He will be honored by the Rolex Equestrian Events, Inc. prior to the jumping competition at this year's 2008 Kentucky Rolex on Sunday, April 27th. I cannot wait to see the crowds cheering this sweetie pie!
