A few city council persons and the Mayor were determined to say that the "Majority" of people in Bowling Green didn't want hens, but the only ones who came out in opposition were Mrs. C*rol L*shuay (twice) and Mr. Ed C*nnell, and Mr. and Mrs. M*lt and L*e H*kel. And they never came with regularity. During the course of the past year, the variety of people who came out routinely for backyard hens and for Thelma and Louise were men, women, children, and even infants! We had a loving band of decent folks wanting to make a change. In the top photo are Dr. Sherri Thomas, Lex, me, Margaret, Christine and Jorge. And in the bottom photo, you see Sherri, Mr. Wood, Sandy, Chet, Lex, Margaret, Christine, Frances, Pauline, Jorge, me, Janelle, Madi, and other friends and neighbors. Steve, Karen, Danielle, Joann, Suzanne, Marita, the ladies at Calico, Sage and Thyme, the owner of Call of the Canyon, the owners and staff of Happy Badger, Penny, Jennifer, Linda, Stacy, Katie, Michael (not pictured) also came to meetings, offered support, and shared their creative energies to lend their voice to the cause. We were a friendly kind community and always spoke to everyone with kindness and respect. I so appreciated how they helped with this effort.
