Glow Girl
These photos were taken in August, but I am writing this entry on October 5th, a Sunday evening. Violet has had a wonderful summer, I can barely recognize her sometimes. She currently is in the front pasture with Hailee, Sedona, and Annie. On Friday, she and her friends staged a breakout and were running through the stable, around the back, up the front. They had popped the back gate by the round pen and were just enjoying their cute looks and sweet-natured freedom. For her efforts, Violet got a pretty good scrape and bruises on her hip! She even managed to get some swelling. So, she's having her scrapes and issues this summer. But it has all been worth it. Violet is really having the time of her life.
This morning, I went out to the stable and Barbie had turned the four girls out in the pasture the furthest from the stable. It was a beautiful, cool, sunny pure October morning and the grass was long, lush and green. The corn pasture was golden and brown and mowed over. And the girls just were having the time of their life. They were so rich in color with burnished coats. They hung close together and traveled to the fence line to hang their faces over the fence to gaze at the farm across the road and inspect the corn field. Violet trotted around in such a relaxed fashion with her friend Sedona trotting along in her wake. My mares are having a good life!
